Iguazu Falls is located in South America and is bordered by three countries. All three have different names for the falls. Why, even natives that lived in the area had a name for it too! In total, the Iguazu Falls  has five different names. The most common name by which the falls is called is Iguazu, originating from Argentina where 80 percent of it is located. The name’s popularity is shortly followed by Iguacu or Iguassu, the two names by which Brazilians call it. Paraguay refers to the falls as Yguazu which isn’t that different from Argentina’s name for it. Lastly and probably the most far off name of Iguazu is Guarani, the name by which natives called it.
